The Smartsite CMS application poses an additional custom requirement regarding resources and localization: external developers should be able to easily override and extend any compiled resources that are embedded into the application.

To this end, the Smartsite.Tools library component exposes several specialized resource classes that are derived from the .NET framework resource classes, and extend the built-in functionality with support for Smartsite-specific late-bound resource overriding and extending.
