Create Twitter App

As of Smartsite 7.6, you can post message to Twitter from within the Dashboard manager.

To be able to connect to a specific Twitter account, you need to create a Twitter App first.

This article describes this procedure.

1. Create App

First, login to your company's or organisation's Twitter account and in a new tab, browse to the url https://apps.twitter.com 

Click the Create New App button.

2. Create Application

 A webform is displayed to fill in a few Application details.

Choose a name and description and specify the url of your website. You don't need to specify a callback url.

Agree to the Developer Agreement and click the button below it.

3. App created

Once your App has been created, your application's settings are displayed. 

Click the Keys and Access Tokens menu option.

4. Application settings

 The Consumer Key and Consumer Secret are displayed here on this screen. These are two out of the four keys you need to create a Twitter account within Smartsite.

Scroll down and click the button to create an access token.

5. Access Token

Once the Access Token and the Access Token Secret are created, you're all set to create a Twitter account within Smartsite.
