When you want the urls within the Facebook posts created from the Smartsite manager to be shortened Bitly urls, you should add the app setting facebook.usebitly to the web.confg and specify the value 'true'.
To be able to use Bitly url shortening, you must also specify the bitly.accesstoken app setting.
Notice: This functionality is available as of Smartsite release 8.0.
