Smartsite 7.9 - ...
When you want the urls within the tweets created from the Smartsite manager to be shortened Bitly urls, you should add the app setting twitter.usebitly to the web.confg and specify the value 'true'.
To be able to use Bitly url shortening, you must also specify the bitly.accesstoken app setting.
Notice: This functionality is available as of Smartsite release 8.0.
