CTFP

CTFP is an abbreviation for ContentType Field Property.

A property of a specific field in a specific contenttype or a contenttype and its derived types. CTFPs can be set to different values for different user roles.

CTFPs can influence the way a field is handled by the cms server or the way it is rendered by the publication engine. For example the Width property simply sets the width of the webcontrol used to edit the field in the Smartsite manager, TextFilter changes the way the field data is processed before saving and SecurityZone changes the SXML elements that the render engine allows in a field. SecurityZone actually works on the cms server as well, as validation takes the property into consideration.
