File type security
Smartsite 7.10 - ...
File type security allows a site administrator to restrict what files users can see, edit or upload. Access is set in Edit user role.
Security is checked for the extension of a given file. Some file extensions, like .txt and .html, are used in more than a single file type, because different MIME types may be assigned. These file types are coupled in the editor, so you can't set different levels for file types with the same extension.
File type "Unknown" is a catch-all for all file extensions which are not present in the table file types.
Read access is tested by the following actions:
- File explorer
- File details
Write access is tested by:
- File upload
- File rename
- Edit file
