The Smartsite.Logging.config configuration file is used to configure logging for the iXperion publication engine. The publication engine emits a lot of information to the (internally used) LogWriter. This includes general informational messages as well as errors, warnings and trace messages.

The LogWriter is part of the Smartsite Logging library, which is build upon the Logging Application Block (Microsoft Enterprise Library - January 2006 release).

However, this messages must be directed to a specific listener and logging must be enabled in the first place. This section describes how this can be achieved.
