Host headers is a mechanism for mapping hostnames to channels and back. Host headers allow you to map requests from one or more hostnames to a channel and tells Smartsite which hostname to use when a link must be created for an item in a certain channel. A single hostname can be mapped to a single, specific channel but a hostname can also be mapped to multiple channels in which case the channel is determined by the default document in the path or by the friendly name of the channel when friendly names are used.
