How to duplicate the render template mappings from one channel to another
How to duplicate the render template mappings from one channel to another
Problem
If you create a new channel by copying an existing channel, most settings, like the contenttype mappings, are copied to the new channel.
One important dependency however is not copied to the new channel: the render template mappings. As a result of this, the built-in render template is used to render the content on the newly created channel.
This behavior is understandable; the render template configuration is not part of the channel definition. If however, you want to make an exact copy of a channel, this can be inconvenient.
This query solves this problem: it duplicates the render template configuration from one channel to another.
Resolution
Run the following query to copy the render template mappings form channel AAA to channel BBB.
SQL | Copy Code |
---|---|
INSERT INTO ChannelMappings (nrContentType, nrChannel, nrRenderTemplate) SELECT cm.nrContentType,ch_to.Nr,cm.nrRenderTemplate FROM ChannelMappings cm JOIN Channels ch_from ON cm.nrChannel=ch_from.Nr CROSS JOIN Channels ch_to JOIN ContentTypesChannels ctc ON cm.nrContentType=ctc.nrContentType AND ctc.nrChannel=ch_to.Nr where ch_from.Code='AAA' AND ch_to.code='BBB' AND NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM ChannelMappings ncm WHERE ncm.nrContentType=cm.nrContentType AND ncm.nrChannel=ch_to.Nr) |
Note that, after ececuting the query, you must recycle the site for the new settings to take effect.
