iXperion Site configuration (Publication Engine)

Release 1.0 - ...

The adviced configuration settings for the iXperion site (Publication Engine) are described and shown in the screen shots below.

Web Site

Falcon properties - Web Site tab

Choose an appropriate description and port number(s). Use the Advanced button to specify host headers and/or to specify multiple identities for the web site.

Since Smartsite uses it's own logging technique, it is usually not necessary to enable IIS logging.

Performance

Falcon properties - Performance tab

It is left at the site administrator's discretion whether or not to use bandwith throttling and/or limiting the number of connections.

ISAPI Filters

Falcon properties - ISAPI Filters tab

Since the Smartsite CMS manager is hosted via a virtual application/directory within this site, it is necessary to add SixSmartSys.dll as ISAPI filter.

Home Directory

Falcon properties - Home Directory tab

  • In local path fill in the correct path to the www folder of the site (or use the Browse button).
  • As Application name use the site name.
  • For Execute permissions choose Scripts only.
  • Select the application pool that should be associated with this site.

Click the Configuration button to open the Application Configuration dialog.

Smartsite Falcon - Application Extension Mappings 1

Check if the .net extension is listed, if not add this extension and map it to the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll executable.
Do not check the "Verify that file exists" checkbox.

Smartsite Falcon - Application Extension Mappings 2

If not yet present, add a wildcard application mapping to C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll.
Do not check the "Verify that file exists" checkbox.
