<add name="XmlFile Trace Listener" type="Smartsite.Diagnostics.Logging.XmlFileTraceListener, Smartsite.Diagnostics.Logging, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5fdb12a67e027fb6" fileName="..\LogFiles\Cms\Log.xml" roleOverType="Hour" threshold="1" filesToKeep="12" listenerDataType="Smartsite.Diagnostics.LoggingBase.Logging.Configuration.CustomTraceListenerData, Smartsite.Diagnostics.Logging, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5fdb12a67e027fb6" traceOutputOptions="None" initializeData="" /> |
Attributes
Attribute name | Required | Description |
---|---|---|
name | Yes | Name of the trace listener. |
type | Yes | The type of the trace listener. Smartsite.Diagnostics provides the following trace listeners:
The type must be specified as fully qualified typename, so you should append ", Smartsite.Diagnostics.Logging, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5fdb12a67e027fb6" to each of the listener types as listed above. |
listenerDataType | Yes | Represents the (fully qualified) type to use, which in turn represents the configuration for a specific trace listener. Smartsite.Diagnostics provides four listener datatypes:
The EventLogTraceListenerData should be used for a trace listener of type EventLogTraceListener. For all other types of trace listeners, CustomTraceListenerData should be used. Notice that a fully qualified name must be specified, so ", Smartsite.Diagnostics.Logging, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5fdb12a67e027fb6" must be added to the listener datatype. |
traceOutputOptions | No | Specifies trace data options to be written to the trace output. Not in use within Smartsite.Diagnostics and when specified, you should set it to None. |
initializeData | No | Sets initialization data for the trace listener. Not used within Smartsite.Diagnostics' trace listeners. |
fileName | Yes | Specifies the filename to which the log messages should be written. A relative path (relative to the site's web rootpath) must be specified. Only applicable for the XmlFileTraceListener and the FlatFileTraceListener. |
roleOverType | Yes | Specifies the "roleover" type (should have been rollOverType) to be used. The following "roleover" types are supported:
Together with the thresHold attribute, the roleOverType determines when a new log file must be created (and the old one should be archived). This mechanism ensures the logfile from becoming too large. Only applicable for the XmlFileTraceListener. |
thresHold | Yes | The thresHold setting (numeric), together with the roleOverType, determines when a new log file must be created. The thresHold represents the number of e.g. hours, days or MegaBytes before the logfile roll-over mechanism must kick in. Only applicable for the XmlFileTraceListener. |
filesToKeep | Yes | Determines how many files should be kept (after archiving) by the roll-over mechanism. Only applicable for the XmlFileTraceListener. |
dbConnection | Yes | Connection string to the database in which the log messages should be written. As of iXperion 1.2 it is also possible to just specify the id of a database connection string as defined within Smartsite.Data.config. Only applicable for the DBTraceListener. |
dbLogEntriesTable | Yes | Name of the database table in which the log messages should be written. Should be set to LogEntries. Only applicable for the DBTraceListener. |
toAddress | Yes | The email address to which the log messages must be sent. Only applicable for the EmailTraceListener. |
fromAddress | Yes | The email address of the sender of the log messages, e.g. "noreply@companyname.com". Only applicable for the EmailTraceListener. |
subjectLineStarter | No | The subject of the email message will equal the logtype-name, such as Information or Error. With the parameter subjectLineStarter, you can prefix this subject with a custom text. Only applicable for the EmailTraceListener. |
subjectLineEnder | No | The subject of the email message will equal the logtype-name, such as Information or Error. With the parameter subjectLineEnder, you can suffix this subject with a custom text. Only applicable for the EmailTraceListener. |
smtpServer | Yes | The address of the stmp server which should be used to send the email messages. Only applicable for the EmailTraceListener. |
smtpPort | No | The port of the smtp server, which should be used to send the email messages. Defaults to 25. Only applicable for the EmailTraceListener. |
formatter | No | Name of the formatter (referring by name to a configured formatter within the formatters section) which should be used to format the log message. Only applicable for the FlatFileTraceListener and the EmailTraceListener. |
