Problem
The required membershipMappings element is missing within the Smartsite.ActiveDirectoryConfiguration section.
Resolution
The Smartsite.ActiveDirectoryConfiguration section within the web.config should contain an membershipMappings element, which configures the (default) domain and the membership provider which should be used for this domain. See the example below.
